Sos Gimishyan says about the Heritage Party’s proposal
The Heritage Party had offered Sos Gimishyan, the leader of the Armenian Christian Democratic Renaissance Party, the People’s Party of Armenia (PPA), Andrias Ghukasyan, the Republic Party, and Petros Makeyan to participate in the Yerevan City Council election with a common list. Yesterday Sos Gimishyan said that they had preliminary agreements with Hrant Bagratyan and Aram Zaven Sargsyan, and they would respond to the Heritage Party only after they decided whether they would participate jointly with them or not.
Today he already has a preliminary decision. Sos Gimishyan explained during a conversation with www.aravot.am: “It is not a final decision yet, but given the current situation and what is going on these days, we have made a preliminary decision that we will not participate in the city council election. It is not a decision, it is a position. Unless serious changes take place in the next few days, the strategy of participating separately doesn’t change. In a nutshell, our position
is the following; if there is a coalition, cooperation as broad as possible, we will participate. If the opposition camp is as split as today, our deal will become a struggle for seats. We don’t wish to participate in the struggle for seats.”
