Samvel Alexanyan, a Republican member of the National Assembly, attended the campaign meeting of Taron Margaryan, the incumbent mayor and the Republican candidate for mayor, in the administrative district of Malatya-Sebastia as an observer today. www.aravot.am inquired of Mr. Alexanyan why he didn’t want to say a few kind words about the Republican candidate, as the others did. Samvel Alexanyan answered with a meaningful smile: “Taron Margaryan doesn’t need my advertisement. Everyone loves him.” We also inquired of Samvel Alexanyan whether the talk that he was pressured by the government to sell the Yerevan City supermarket chain to Carrefour S.A. and would acquire the Star supermarket chain instead corresponded to the reality. Mr. Alexanyan said in response: “How many times have I told you that I am not engaged in business?” he basically avoided the question.
