Styopa Safaryan, the secretary of the Heritage Party, is going to find out the identity of the police officer who tried to take him in yesterday, explaining that he was drunk.
Talking about the clashes that took place yesterday during a conversation with us, he told how police officers, holding his hands, had thrown him to the sidewalk; then two police officers had moved him from there. According to Mr. Safaryan, he and a few other members of the Heritage Party just tried to surround Raffi Hovhannisyan’s wife, Armenuhi Hovhannisyan, to ensure her safety. Mr. Safaryan said that during the squash yesterday, one of the members of Raffi Hovhannisyan’s family, a citizen of the US who had also tried to ensure the safety of Mrs. Hovhannisyan, along with him, was taken in, along with another youth, based on false accusations. “We will try to find out the identities of the ‘bullfaced’ police officers; we will give a response.”
