April 22,2013 11:20

Narek Varazdatyan, a supporter of the Heritage Party and a chess teacher dismissed from Pushkin School No. 8, is going to sue the school principal for firing him without explanation. “No employment contract was signed. I found out from my employment record book that I was hired on February 1. I don’t know based on what. On April 1 I was fired without reference to the Labor Code, without explanation. The next meeting with the principal will be in court.” Let us remind that according to the fired teacher, he was dismissed, because he had given Ds to eighteen students of Class 2/3 for coming to the lesson unprepared. Among those who got Ds were Serzh Sargsyan’s and Hovik Abrahamyan’s grandsons. Talking about the city hall’s explanation, he said: “The city hall quotes some articles without realizing that I don’t have an employment contract.” Regarding the city hall’s explanation that he had been a substitute chess teacher of the school, N. Varazdatyan said: “A substitute teacher should also work at school according to a contract; this is a requirement of the Labor Code. Furthermore, if I don’t have an employment contract, based on what was I employed as a substitute

teacher? The dismissal was just a result of political persecution, for giving Ds to Serzh Sargsyan’s and Hovik Abrahamyan’s grandsons.”
