She will perform in folk costume
Ani Voskanyan studied at the European Regional Academy, and although her specialty is international relations, she is currently engaged in hotel business. During a conversation with Aravot, Ani told us that her second profession was a dancer, she had been dancing for 10 years; she had participated in festivals in Spain, Poland, Germany and elsewhere. Ani Voskanyan represents Armenian folk dance, but she has tried her luck at other styles. “On May 1, I am going to Turkey (Bodrum), where the Think Once, Think Twice, Think Dance-2 international dance festival will take place. I will be an EVS volunteer there for a month, during which I will represent Armenian culture, history, as well as do a dance number in folk costume,” Ani Voskanyan said. She informed that 3000 dancers from around 40 countries would take part in the festival; the organizers of the festival had chosen Ani from Armenia, examining the information she had sent. We found out that the girl had danced for 8 years with the Nairi company, which had formerly been called Mush. “Within the framework of the festival, I should perform dances in other styles, for which I have also prepared,” our interlocutor said. As a volunteer, she will participate in the Bodrum International Dance Festival
for the first time, and she is happy that she is the one who is entrusted with the task of representing Armenian culture and customs and telling about her birthplace within the framework of that event. She added that the language of communication would be English, and it was good that she would not have language problems given her profession; besides, she was communicative, friendly, and curious by nature.
