In response to an observation of Aravot that members of the PAP “have made a lot of accusations against you recently, from water closets set up in Yerevan to unreasonable expenses on business trips,” Taron Margaryan, the incumbent mayor who tops the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) list for city council, said yesterday: “I can say that the PAP group in the Yerevan City Council has been a reliable partner for us in the past 4 years. We have made all the important decisions regarding Yerevan’s development together and have cooperated constructively. If ‘senior’ PAP members try to express discontent, I must say that it is not my business to comment on inner-PAP conflicts either. As for the budget and the other issues, all reports are open and transparent; everyone can familiarize himself with them. And it would be honest, if our colleagues raised problems when they noticed those. I assure you that the solution will be more efficient in that case.”
