“They prepare for serious fraud in the Malatya-Sebastia administrative district; there may be serious cases of using violence. I sense from the general atmosphere, all the talk and from what is happening to our commission members and poll-watchers today when they try to contact them, square some accounts, use deceit. I infer that it is not ruled out that there will be certain clashes in Malatya-Sebastia,” Vahagn Khachatryan who tops the Armenian National Congress (ANC) list for the city council election said during a conversation with Aravot yesterday. In response to a question of Aravot whether they were ready to resist, Mr. Khachatryan said: “We are ready to struggle in all ways provided for by the law. If they do so, we will defend ourselves in accordance with the law, if we see that it doesn’t work, we will find some other way. We are not going to sit on our hands.” Mr. Khachatryan thinks that they will demand recounts at all polling places, since according to him, the existing voter registration lists already contained potential fraud. “If they had cleared the lists, there wouldn’t have been 2 million 600 thousand voters in Armenia, there wouldn’t have been 880 thousand voters in Yerevan, because there isn’t.” Let us remind that Samvel Alexanyan, oligarch-member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group, has
traditionally carried out and been responsible for electoral fraud in the Malatya-Sebastia administrative district.
