Mesrop Manukyan, an assistant to Manvel Grigoryan, a Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP, and an RPA candidate for city council, would introduce himself as a part-time RPA poll-watcher with a proper badge in no. 8/8 and 8/9 polling places of the administrative district of Malatya-Sebastia from morning till afternoon.
By the way, as an RPA poll-watcher, he would impede the work of Karen Harutyunyan, a representative of the Gyumri-based Asparez club, from time to time and would incite him to an argument, calling him a provoker. He would film K. Harutyunyan with his personal cell phone, holding it so close to him as to narrowly miss his eyes and would ask: “Come now, say what you were going to say.”
Coming to the polling place, Samvel Alexanyan, a member of the RPA, urged this very youth who would stand out for his “dust-ups” in the polling place: “Moso, don’t make trouble.” In
the evening, Mesrop Manukyan, came to the 8/9 polling place this time changing his badge along with his shirt. In the evening he was not a poll-watcher any longer, he was a candidate for city council with a proper badge. www.aravot.am inquired of him how come he was both a poll-watcher and a candidate for city council at the same time, but he refused to answer our questions.
