Harutyun Khachatryan who sustained firearm injuries is the godfather of the children of Serob Grigoryan, the murdered uncle of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP Martun Grigoryan. He has already given evidence about the shooting in front of his home, outside 54b Shirakatsi Street, Gyumri, on April 23. Godfather Harut’s testimony substantially differs from the confession made by Vardan Ghukasyan’s nephew, Vahe Ghukasyan. According to our sources, Godfather Harut said that he brought his daughter from school by car, along with Sheko [the bodyguard of the same uncle of the MP – N. A.]. They opened the gate of his house, and at that moment, the first shot was fired. So the underage girl was also a witness to the shooting. Seconds later, the second gunshot followed. Godfather Harut felt severe pain in his left arm, he tried to push the girl into the front yard and close the gate after her. Gunshots were fired again and Godfather Harut who had already been injured asked Sheko for help. Sheko was at the back of the car at that time. Sheko had answered that he had also been injured; after that, the shooting intensified, and Godfather Harut suggested that they hide outside the entrance of a building in the vicinity, in order to stay alive. After that, Godfather Harut fainted and doesn’t remember what happened after that.

Let us note that according to people who knew Sheko, 36-year-old Artyom Karapetyan who has allegedly been murdered by Vardan Ghukasyan’s nephew, Vahe Ghukasyan, lived in one of the remotest buildings of Gyumri, on the first floor of the very last building of Meat Factory. His family of four lived in a one-room apartment; he had two sons aged 15 and 14. His body was taken to the burial ground from his parents’ home, which is also located in Meat Factory, on the premises of a former bakery.

P.S. Let us note that after this article had been written, the Gyumri hospital informed us that Harutyun Khachatryan had been taken to the hospital again; he was discharged from the hospital today, considering his condition to be satisfactory. However, according to the doctors, Godfather Harut was taken to the investigation department for an interview, his condition deteriorated, and they have taken him to the hospital again.
