Tigran Urikhanyan Accuses Those Who “Put the People in a Hard Condition With Their Political and Socio-Economic Course”

May 15,2013 11:06

Talking about Gagik Tsarukyan’s statement that the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) could not be opposition, Galust Sahakyan, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group leader, somewhat mockingly noted during a conversation with Aravot yesterday that Tsarukyan had reaffirmed that the PAP “is just an alternative.” “There is no difference for us

whether it is opposition or an alternative. The important thing for us is that all political forces take part in all processes,” the RPA deputy leader said. In this regard, Tigran Urikhanyan, the PAP press secretary, said during a conversation with www.aravot.am today: “Let no one doubt that the Prosperous Armenia Party, as many of us have said lots of times, will continue to respond, compel, demand, and supervise by its actions.

“Moreover, let me stress once again that the PAP will live up to the expectations of the people and not some coerced and artificial formulations of certain circles. Naira Zohrabyan, the PAP parliamentary group secretary, has talked about all the issues related to that subject that concern the public in the best way.” After the consecration of the St. John the Baptist Church in the town of Abovyan yesterday, the people gathered “attacked” the tables laid with sacrificial food in the front yard of the church. The scene was both disgusting and sad, which has been exploited and criticized quite a lot. “I am not going to either justify myself or justify anyone else. It means to criticize a lot of people who took the liberty of doing certain things at a certain point in time,” Tigran Urikhanyan said. In response to a question whether it was appropriate behavior, he said: “Let those who put the people in a hard condition with their political and socio-economic course think whether it is appropriate or not.”
