“We demand that the increase of price for gas is suspended and we also say that there is even an opportunity to lower the price of gas,” – today, a group of activists again held an action of protest with this request, this time in front of the Russian Embassy. “I’m an environmentalist, I never hold the hand of a citizen saying why do you cut a tree. Because if that person does not have a chance to get warm, to keep his family, I would never do such a thing. The process of increasing the price for gas should be suspended, otherwise our nation will not appear in a good situation. We have electricity, we would like to ask, why the price for electricity is increasing. What are the bases for it, when we have a nuclear power plant, a lot of hydropower stations, which day by day are growing like mushrooms, where does the electricity go. We would like to ask the Russian side, what do you want from Armenia, why do you raise the price for gas,” – complained environmentalist Silva Adamyan during the action of protest. Activist Argishti Kiviryan continued, – “The whole world is trying to strengthen strategic allies, but the steps of Russia are constantly aimed at weakening Armenia. Russia is implementing a compatriot program, settles Armenians in the deserts of Siberia, supplies weapons to Azerbaijan, with which Armenia is in actual war. If this country is called a strategic ally, we can imagine what the opponents of Armenia must be… The citizen of Armenia must show Russia, in the face of Russian Embassy, that the citizen of Armenia understands what is going on and protests against the approach of the strategic ally.” The activists dropped their demand in a written form into the mailbox of the Embassy and left.
