Director: The founder of “Parallels film” company Hovannes Galstyan’s wrote in his Facebook page that despite his personal attitude to award-winning films at Cannes this year, “Parallels film” is pleased to announce that one of his colleagues who is involved in the business of disseminating films to Russia and CIS countries obtained the right to show the films of the Cannes Film Festival “Golden palm branch” winner Abdelatif Keshish’s “Adel’s life” Parts 1 and 2 (La vie d’Adele, Chapter 1 & 2) and the Best-known Director Amat Eskalante’s “Eli” (Heli). He also noted, – “Parallels film” can act as a broker for these films to be displayed in “Moscow” and “Nairi” cinemas in Yerevan. I will immediately undertake the initiative, if this status has at least 50 distributors and gathers at least 1,000 positive feedback. If we persuade ourselves that the dream about having literate audience is not in the air, and hiring out films in Yerevan is not permanently capitulated by specific auditorium”, – Mr. Galstyan, in a conversation with Aravot.am, said that he will not disclose the name of the company who is bringing the film “Adel’s life” to CIS and Russia as long as there is no partnership agreement, although a formal letter has been sent. The director believes that “Adel’s life,” “will” come to Armenia, when “russification” will be completed. “Adel’s Life”, and “Eli” with Russian subtitles will probably be displayed at Moscow Festival. As soon as these films become Russian, which is a long process, I believe that we will have the opportunity to organize their display in Armenia. In fact, some of my colleagues cautioned that there is a specific treatment in Armenia for these films. I have not seen both films, but I think that the Cannes does not award prize for random films, even under Spielberg’s leadership. I will definitely see the films at the Moscow Film Festival, my wife’s Marina Zakarian’s ‘Pheasant’s hunter’ will also participate in this Festival. If I see something shocking, I will again share something in my Facebook page that it must be displayed only for professionals, but I do not think that we are so wild nation that can demonstrate such attitude towards a film that has received as prestigious award at the film festival.”
