Naira Zohrabyan does not think that the PAP has become passive

June 15,2013 09:18

And denies the main speakers of the PAP and the Republican Party about the “instruction given from above” of keeping silent until September

– Mrs. Zohrabyan, although Gagik Tsarukyan denied that the PAP political team and especially You are assigned not to deliver sharp critical speeches anymore, but the reality is quite different. The past four days showed that PAP was the most passive. Even the Republican Party was active from PAP in criticizing vicious phenomena in the country. Don’t you think that such political passiveness may generally leave the party on the side?

– I do not agree with the assessment that the PAP was passive and did not express its views on the political agenda. Gagik Tsarukyan clearly replied to such questions of journalists, and I do not see a problem for additional commentary. And as for the agenda item that is on country’s domestic and foreign policy table, the PAP members had given their comments and assessments.

– Let’s be honest, you are silent, Vardan Oskanyan is silent, i.e. no harsh assessment is raised, but instead a couple of speeches were made by PAP, as it was already described in the press, were strictly “ultra-lights”. At least, it was surprising that personally You kept silent, for example, regarding the issues of the Prime Minister’s offshore, the performance of the Government program, tragedy in Goris and other important issues of public concern, when Your criticism so far was sharper than of the radical opposition.

– My assessments are not changed, and I have expressed them with voting. I repeat, my colleagues have addressed to all your questions mentioned.

– You know, it’s not clear that regarding the questions and answers to the Government when everyone is waiting for the most serious questions, PAP asks one question, a narrow political question about the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Sports.

– If a law is violated, if the Minister allows ignoring the law, then I do not think it inappropriate to raise this issue at the Parliament.

– Yesterday, your colleague, Deputy Abraham Manukyan in his interview to several sites had expressed his satisfaction with the government activities. Doesn’t this prove once again that there are two wings in PAP conflicting with each other, business and political, whose political interests are totally different?

– There are no conflicting wings in PAP, there are figures and individuals who may have different positions on different issues, and it is quite natural. It’s quite a different matter, when there is a political decision, given decision is mandatory to everyone. The official view of PAP regarding the activities of this government has been raised over and over, and voted “pro”. With regard to Abraham Manukyan, I have talked to Mr. Manukyan after these publications, and he was also confused as to how a journalist could consider several view said in humor as an official interview.

– You recently said that you stay abstained from political comments until September, such a statement was made yesterday by Armen Ashotyan. A viewpoint is already circulating that the main speakers of two sides are instructed to remain silent. Is there such a thing?

– I already answered ‘no’.
