Gyumri city authorities showing hospitality to world-famous opera singers, violinists and actors, on the eve of CIS cultural events were forced to buy also 10 bio-toilets. But they cost not 170 thousand dollars and are idle like the ones located next to Tatev ropeway or St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, but 400 thousand dram and in normal condition and non-profit. In other words, installing them in the central parts of the city, they will cost nothing for the residents of Gyumri and for the guests.
Gyumri city Mayor Samvel Balasanyan’s spokesman Zohrap Yeganyan provided certain clarifications to Aravot.am regarding the issue of bio-toilets. We first of all asked whether these toilets passed the experiment, whether they will justify themselves, or they will become a source of robbery by the residents like the one installed near Tatev ropeway, it will seize AMD 200, but the needs will not be satisfied. “When we began to conducts the events organized in the framework of cultural city program, it became obvious that the city is required to be provided with bio-toilets. Commonly, in developed and developing countries boil-toilets are installed in all places, we do not it, we have purchased bio-toilets from Ukraine, each with approximately AMD 400 thousand.
The financial resources to purchase these toilets came from the following sources: naturally, the city should take part in the events organized in the framework cultural city program, we, in compared with, invest an insignificant amount of money, just a little more than AMD 17 million, but by doing it we obtain such things, that will remain in the city afterwards, such as hundreds of chairs, lights in the central streets of the city, bio-toilets, we do not spend money on singers and so on, we just make such purchases to be permanent.”,-clarified Zohrap Yeganyan. According to our interlocutor, they will be at this moment, only the central parts of the city, and possibly additional batches will be delivered to other parts of the installation, which will help the development of tourism, as well as a tourist center in Gyumri all perception. According to our interlocutor, at this moment, they will be installed in the central parts of the city, in the future there might be additional batch and will be installed in other parts of the city, which will promote to tourism development, because everyone perceives Gyumri as a tourism center, as well. According to our interlocutor, the installation works have started, and the Gyumri City Hall will carefully follow that tourists have no complaints, i.e. not to appear in the condition of bio-toilets in Tatev. “They are normal, ordinary, bio-toilets.”- so described Zohrap Yeganyan about the goods imported from Ukraine.
