While elaborating the law on “Volunteer Homeland Defender status”, the Deputy Prime Minister of NKR Artur Aghabekyan, a soldier friend, has also provided with consultancy to the authors of this law MP Deputy-Generals Manvel Grigoryan and Seyran Saroyan. This was told to Aravot.am by Mr. Aghabekyan during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Martakert. To our question as to what viewpoint he has about the law that deserved criticism by some opposition figures and volunteer fighters for freedom and whether the law, as the fighters for freedom say, does not resolve any social problem, Mr. Aghabekyan said,- “The forces that drive some people to act with criticism, they actually do not criticize the law, but Manvel Grigoryan and Seyran Saroyan. Years later, maybe a dozen years later, when our generation will be gone, the generation after us will turn to this law. It’s true, it is a law that resolves more moral issues, and in reality every person of my generation irrespective of whether or not has participated in military actions, will consider that he has been signified by the enforcement of the law.”
