“Now I am going to flee from here”. Usually it happens in the end of our citizens’ ‘protest monologue’. At the same time, it is said in a sort of pride, as if someone gets its deserved punishment with such ‘fleeing’, or approved some divine justice. In fact, it is ultimate manifestation of weakness, irresponsibility, and adaptation, it is a moth that is embedded in our people, and, which by the way, is unwittingly encouraged by our opponents (except for the Pre-parliamentary): “they do right”, “this country is not a place to live,” “soon nobody will stay in this country.” It is clear that politicians want to prove that they were not or will not be plunderers, but “at the same time” promote that citizens become wicked not from the government (which is natural, and which it deserves), but from the state and the homeland. “What homeland, what borders, what soldier? But this oligarch, but that official, but jeeps, but the castles.” Sometimes it seems to me that those complaining, should they have the opportunity to become an oligarch or an official, would become with pleasure with all ‘jeep-castle utilities’. But, since that dream did not come true, they decided to ‘flee from here’. Of course, this does not apply to all who emigrate.
“Those who leave, you know, where do they usually go, keeping hogs in a village of Russia, collecting money at the toilets in the center of Hamburg, begging at the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, faking maps in Glendale… I can not understand these people, whatever explanation you provide, anyway, I can not comprehend their leaving. How you can easily give up from fighting here, from finding pleasure in changing their lives…. Please, don’t give me advice from outside, come back and let’s change the country, let’s make it a homeland.”
These words are written by journalist Edik Baghdasaryan, whom, hopefully, no one doubts of his being power oriented. The words are very felicitous, and are aimed not only commonly at ‘those who flee’ but at their more or less being literate, who teach us from there as to how we need to live and fight in Armenia. And they find excuses for it, as well. “Your country survives thanks to our money transfers. We uphold you.”
My beloved, if you think that you should not send money to your loved ones, do not send. But if you do, still it does not mean that you must speak more or less about our country and advise us how to live.
