“Smerch” in exchange for loyalty

July 12,2013 20:02

The terrible heat, on the one hand, Ishkhan Zakaryan’s problems, on the other hand, “Smerch” that Russia has sold to Azerbaijan and many other problems have made our unpredictable everyday life in this summer more mysterious and unpredictable. The only consolatory thing is that sometimes our bad predictions do not become a reality. For example, regarding the hail and apricot of this year. True, people of Armavir suffered from the hail and apricot yield, but, in general, people were not deprived of having apricot this year, and with a very affordable price. Unfortunately, we can not even theoretically be optimistic about the other issues. For example, we cannot hope that in the coming winter we will have gas in abundance and cheap. We can not also assume that the Azerbaijanis have bought ‘Smerch’ from Russians to liquidate not the Armenians, but the Persians, or, let’s say, their fellow Turks.

But we must confess that every bad thing was going through our minds besides this “Smerch”, and although those who are the most optimistic and Russian-oriented are trying to give hope to them and us convincing that “Smerch” is totally outdated and expired, even the most believed among us were having difficulty to believe that the Azerbaijani could give sacks of money for an outdated and expired weapon. And, in addition to that pro-Russians and Russian-oriented no matter how pro-Russian and Russian-oriented they are, can hardly be more Russian-oriented and pro-Russian than Karabakh people, while Karabakh people in the face of Arthur Aghabekyan and others are voicing quite serious alerts about the same “Smerch” assuring that the said weapon is designed especially against the civilian population. In this sense, our only hope is that Karabakh people, however, are not so peaceful population.

Apart from joking, but the situation makes to remember that the enemies of Azerbaijan are not only Karabakh people but also Armenians, that is, Armenia, which is, no more, no less, a strategic ally of Russia. This is a real hope, especially for pro-Russian and Russian-oriented, who believe and convince that Russia is unlikely to allow Azerbaijan to use weapons of mass destruction against its strategic ally. If, of course, we behave well. Of course, towards Russia. But didn’t we behave well towards Russia, so far. During these more than twenty years of independence, we were more demoted to Russia than even Belarus, which from time to time, counters Russia, and Putin, personally. But they are not afraid of us. And keep doing. Moreover, everyone, friends and foes. Because we open our mouths before everyone. We say things that we must keep inside. Unfortunately, our complementary policy does not provide healthy fruits because those who are stronger demand not a complementary policy from us, but loyalty, and, by the way, all those who are strong demand the same. Because they have not seen or expected anything other than this.
