The ‘offshore’ scandal with regard to Ararat Diocese Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan’s and the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s name continues to be debated. “We are the Masters of our Country” Movement launched a signature collection, which the latter is going to extend to His Holiness Karekin II with the request to defrock Ararat Diocese Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan. Aravot.am inquired from the head of “Center for Rehabilitation and Assistance to Victims of Destructive Cults” NGO Alexander Amaryan Center whether he believes that the Archbishop Kchoyan has been involved in the “offshore” transactions. A. Amaryan noted that this process has a political “line”, it is mainly directed against the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. And to the question of involvement of Archbishop he responded,- “There is a presumption of innocence, the facts and the reaction will be at the same time.” We inquired whether it is not discrediting for Armenia that such scandals are related to the names of high-rank officials and priests, A. Amaryan replied,- “Such scandals are all over the world. It is discreditable to everyone, especially if the fact is substantiated, it would be discreditable.”
