Our friend Russia

July 19,2013 13:19

The court of Russian city of Kirov sent the opposition activist Alexei Navalny to jail for 5 years. He, as you understand, is not an Armenian, he was dressed normal at the court, and his human dignity was personally humiliated. Instead, the court was humiliated as an institution, and the justice, and mostly the Russian statehood. Yesterday, those who wish could follow the proceedings by the Internet, and make sure that the charges about “abduction”, to put it mildly, was tailored with white threads.

This is Russia, which, despite everything, and sometimes in spite of everything, had been and will remain our friend-country. And the matter is not only their troops, nor just gas. The problem is that Russian language for thousands, still capable to working, still decision-making Armenians remains as a communication language, and the Russian culture constitutes the foundation of their education. Of course, the regime, which currently is formed in Russia, should not be an absolute must for us. Moreover, the regime, in my opinion, once again leads our friendly nation to a dead end. By the way, if we also continue organizing our inner life in this manner (more accurate to say, “non-organizing”), nothing good will be expected.

But, it seems to me that falling into emotions, and becoming enemies with Russians would be the most stupid thing that can be done. Recent events have shown that many of our compatriots are too thrilled, “white Turks”, “get rid of the Russians, only in this case we will be able to build the state,” and so on. We should get rid of not Russians, but corruption, parasitism, those iniquity traditions that were for decades and centuries injected into us by Russians and then the Soviet empire. To get rid of, without abjuring the positive that was given to us, the Armenians, by the empire. Our citizens is humiliated, we should give a restrained and dignified response to it, with universal generalizations.

And, in general, in the relations with Russia, as well as other countries, ideologically and humanly close groups of both countries can work effectively. For me, finding such a group for Russia, for example, is not difficult because, even during recent cases, a few tens of Russian intellectuals condemned chauvinism and humiliation of human dignity. Such Russia is close to my heart. And, let’s say, the pensioners dreaming about the return of the Soviet Union can communicate with Sergey Kurghinyan and his supporters. Each finds its Russia.

As for the concept of “to get rid of, and then build”, I think, they are merely talks. Neither Russians, nor Turks and Azeri, do not create obstacles to us of having a normal state. We are the ones to create an obstacle.
