Open letter to RF Ambassador: Yuri Davtyan fears for the anti-Russian hysteria

Doctor of Philological Sciences, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology named after K. Aboyvan Yuri Davtyan sent an open letter to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia, Ivan Volinkin, and extended condolences to the relatives of 18 victims, he felt sorry for his compatriot to appear in the center of the incident. “It is also pitiful for me that there were people among us who taking the advantage of this opportunity did not see 18 innocent victims, but just the hapless rob, and began to raise anti-Russian calls, trying to cast a shadow on the Armenian-Russian friendship for centuries. However, I am confident that the Armenian people are aware of the value of friendship with the Russian people.” In the conversation with Aravot.am, Yuri Davtyan once again mentions that he is extremely concerned about the anti-Russian hysteria. “The current anti-Russian mood for Armenia can have devastating effect. When Russia “gives up” with Armenia, Armenia will vanish.” He is adding that we are talking only about us. “Those 18 people that were deceased, what will their relatives think about us?” Whether Hrachia Harutyunyan will be imprisoned in Russia or Armenia. “The crime committer should take the punishment in the country where the incident occurred.” There are millions of Armenians, who take their punishment outdoors. The attitude of Russian Court towards Hrachia Harutyunyan: “In our country people are treated worse.” And at the end of the letter addressed to the Ambassador it is written: “Please tell me know the account number to which I can transfer a small amount of money to the relatives of the victims for providing assistance.”
