The gas filling station employee to the person transporting free passengers: “Why, aren’t we human.”

July 25,2013 10:57

Poet, writer Vahe Arsen is not registered in freecar.am website where those registered transport passengers free of charge, but conducts such an action every day with his 11-year-old son. He says that often young women avoid getting on a foreign car, therefore he transports people with his son sitting in the car, and the child was holding the picture of 150 drams drawn by him and crossed out. Vahe Arsen is inspired by the behavior of people. Yesterday, when together with his passengers he was approaching a petrol filling station near the bridge of Davidashen district, and asking to fill in the gas for 3500 drams, the employee who was in charge of filling in the gas seeing the poster in the hands of the child regarding price increase in transport, received only 1500 drams. “When I refused, he got offended, and said “why, aren’t we human”… I’m just astonished, because the employee at the petrol filling station, naturally, does not have great financial capacities, but he, at the expense of his daily bread, wanted to be helpful. To the point, many people have told me that mainly pensioners and the poor pay 150 drams for the mini bus. In fact, the owners of the lines and their owners enrich at the expense of the poor. Sometimes you wonder whether they are also our compatriots”,- stated our interlocutor in a conversation with Aravot.am. Vahe was fascinated by the young people, they say, finally, we are becoming a citizen and a society. It hurts that people did not rise for “Closed” market with the same pathos and unity. “This kind of noise was not raised for “Closed” market, what? It did not concern our personal wallet to go out to the street?” Writer thinks that the main reason for the rise is that the power is cut off from its own people, country, and history. Therefore, he is recommending that officials are deprived of service vehicles and fuel ‘fed’ on the account of the budget, and issue tickets for urban transport. “There is no such a transport in any country of the world. Who has seen this kind of transport, where the driver talks on the phone, smokes, takes money, fights with passengers and other drivers and at the same time drives the car.”
