“All political forces were behaving very well during the whole action. The did not interfere, did not try to become a leader, all political parties only participated from aside, the PAP, “Heritage” party, the ANC. Everything was kept in the hands of public initiatives, the young men. It was correct,”- so commented the secretary of the ANC faction Aram Manukyan at the Prosecutor’s office to the traditional piquet of ANC regarding the victory in the action against AMD 150 fare. According to him, the police was waiting for the political leaders should stand and take over the leadership, and they would be giving a political shade to the process. “The political parties participated in the civil initiatives, they never went ahead. Indeed, the movement became public, youth, and student. This was the guaranty of the victory.
This is where the authority got confused. They were waiting for the political leaders to go to the square, guide, and the police would gather. Police did not gather because there was no need to gather. They were scared when the movement moved from the center to Ajapnyak, Malatya, Arabkir and so on. The victory of the action shows that when all acts as one, nothing can stop them. When the youths get on feet, act as one, any issue will be resolved. The government retreated yesterday. There were two reasons to retreat. Number one –they got scared, and if suddenly the other option worked that they have made reasonable steps, people demanded, they did it, very well. We are interested in the result. The government got scared, retreated, or becomes smart, the important thing is the victory.” Aram Manukyan urged people not to migrate and live with the hope of this victory. “Tomorrow it will be another issue, the gas issue, Nairit problem, price rises, the issue of freedom-fighters… The problems are many, the problem solver is one, the citizen.” He asked the youth to fight with the same enthusiasm for freedom of Tigran Arakelyan and political prisoners. “The problem of political prisoners is also an all-Armenian problem.” Aram Manukyan referred to the authorities, saying: “Do so that you would be forgiven in the future. Do so that we would later discuss whether you did a reasonable step, or you got scared.” ANC MP also complained that for 7-8 months the number of immigration is not published. “Isn’t it clear why they do not publish? They were publishing every month, then it turned on a quarterly basis, and then they said that they will publish it on July 1. They do not publish because they know better than us how many people are leaving Armenia every day. Armenia dissipates by the reason of these authorities. Or they will blow out from inside, eating each other from the inside, as it started, which is not beneficial to us. We used to say as to when they are going to eat each other, thus saving us, but neither the civil war, nor twitching each other, nor shooting, nor migration. We just want a smart, elected government.”
