On August 8, two young security guards were accompanying Paruyr Hayrikyan participating in the summer forum entitled “From Human Rights to Absolute democracy” launched in the city of Noyemberyan.
We asked P. Hayrikyan whether his life is in danger, and he is pleased with the proceedings for the case of assault against him.
He said,- “I am pleased with the work of the Security Service, as in a short period of time they could find and disclose the perpetrators. But I am not pleased that 100 thousand dollars was transferred, there are also the names of those who transferred, they have transferred 100 thousand dollars, and I am afraid of going by its tracks. As for the security, our country need to care about everyone’s safety, but if someone is exposed to a danger, our relevant state authorities have decided that it would be good that they follow me, at least for the time being until this stage is passed. If I happen to refuse, and something happens tomorrow, you know what they will say, see, he refused. Therefore, whatever the government decides, I am not disturbing.”
