“It’s hard to guess the motivations of such entity in the authoritarian system as to what mosquito has stung them, what dream they saw, everything is possible with them. Or, maybe the explanation is in European values, etc., or they wanted to balance the situation, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is dealing with the Association Agreement. Maybe, they want to say to Russian pressures through the mouth of police ‘hey, brother, we are with you, we love you, dear Russia’. They are trying to establish a balance. But saying that it was a draft brought from completely absurdity, absurd world of theater, was a fact”, – Levon Barseghyan, chairman of the Journalists’ Club “Asparez”, in a conversation to Aravot.am referring to draft law put and withdrawn from circulation by the police, according to which it was recommended to penalize the implementers of non-traditional sexual relations propaganda.
According to him, traditional sexual relations propaganda, apparently, is possible, it is not a matter of penalty, but there is a question of great interest to him, “I wonder who has written this draft, he is married or not, what his pet is, what education he has, and so on.”
According to Barseghyan, the Section especially with regard to the size of the penalty was ridiculous, the draft law says that the citizens are sought to fine from fifty-fold up to hundred-fold, the officials up to hundred and fifty fold, and legal persons from two hundred fold up to two hundred and fifty fold of the minimum wages. “This is the same as saying that there are two crocodiles flying in the sky, one to the north, the other is green. I no way can comment on this kind of initiatives of Vova’s office, it is incomprehensible. This was also well discussed in the Facebook, and there was a man, who wrote ‘Which one is the traditional, when the man is above or the woman?.”
