The pressures against Armenians in RF get a new quality
Yesterday, 1in.am news website reported that in the frames of the struggle against the illegal immigrants in RF, people who have the right to live or work are also deported. In particular, a few days ago, 70 people, who were working in different facilities of the local, RA MP Karen Karapetyan’s brother Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, were expelled from Kaluga to Armenia.
Earlier, on the occasion of the Armenian driver Hrachya Harutyunyan, Moscow-based independent human rights defender Arbak Khachatryan, in a conversation with us, not focusing on the particular case, had noticed that everything is still to come, because 80% of RF immigrants really has illegal documents and provides, in some sense, illegal activities in the territory of this country avoiding payments of various taxes, etc. Yesterday, in the conversation with “Aravot”, Arbak Khachatryan noted that RF authorities must act very cautiously in this matter, because any careless action could lead to hostility towards the Russian nation. “There were quite many cases that the Caucasians were caught for illegally obtaining a passport and other documents, but the majority of crime is committed by Russian officials, not the person who is looking for job. Here, the immigrant is not so much guilty as the organization, the official, and the state. We must first fight against it. Today, no one can prove that, for instance, given Armenian has bribed to receive documents. If they can prove, it is not a problem, let them also send to jail for giving bribes, but until proven otherwise, the major responsible is the organization that provides documents beyond quota. First of all, we need to struggle against maintenance of the law, against violators of the law,”-said our interlocutor. In fact, he’s going to register an organization in RF that will deal with these problems. The organization will deal not only with the rights of immigrants, but also the protection of rights of Russians, because, according to Arbak Khachatryan, as a result of wrong decisions of state officials, representatives of the Russian nation also suffer gaining enemies. Our interlocutor thinks that RF authorities should not make their laws stricter based on specific individual cases, because thus they will earn thousands of enemies against the Russian nation across the Caucasus. “When the television announces a crime and states that it is committed to the Caucasus, Armenian, etc., it creates hostility against the Russian. Why the Russian criminal is not called a barbaric by the same TV. They are all breaches of human rights, against which we need to struggle. We need to fight against violators of the law, and not to make the laws stricter based on individual cases.”
Arbak Khachatryan believes that the Armenian authorities should also cease to rejoice, for instance, at one word or a glance of RF President, or Armenians commit less violation, and they should be less oppressed. He believes that the Armenian authorities should find themselves power to properly defend the rights of first its own citizens inside the country and then outside of the country, and not to be happy with the fact that Armenians ‘are not touched’ in Russia or they are ‘less oppressed’.”

To the point, our interlocutor warns that these issues started in RF, are the so-called flower, as the problem of immigrants is beginning to ripen all over the world. In this situation, the response of the Armenian authorities is incomprehensible for him, or, more precisely, non response. He believes that the first step that the Armenian authorities should do now and promptly is to make Armenia a country of law, because it is also the only chance to protect the rights of citizens of Armenia beyond Armenia. Although our interlocutor understands that it is a very difficult task, but hopes that the President of Armenia already realizes the seriousness of the moment and will take drastic measures, from which so far has avoided for various reasons.
