On July 30-31, the assessments of French Diocese Norvan Archbishop Zakarian of the Armenian Apostolic Church was qualified unfounded in the message of the Supreme Council of the Etchmiadzin, and with regard to which His Holiness Norvan reversed the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and demanded that the Holy See explains why his assessments are unfounded. His Holiness, in particular, noted,- “At the request to read at the aforementioned meeting we have sent a 4-page explanation with regard to ‘groundless assessments’. There is no note made in the message. If the explanation was qualified “groundless”, we will ask the Eminence and Honorable members of the Supreme Spiritual Council to be kind to justify our “groundless assessments.” Otherwise, we will approve that our ecclesiastical dignity is once again offended.”
Aravot.am asked for a comment about it from the Mother Holy See Etchmiadzin information system. The head of the Information System Father Vahram Melikyan was on vacation, and his substituting father Husik said that he did not find it appropriate to comment at this time. “His Holiness is on vacation, he will be back soon and will make appropriate comments.”
According to our information, new developments are expected, and the comments of His Holiness Karekin II Catholicos of all Armenians will arise after the possible meeting with Norvan Archbishop Zakarian. We asked Father Husik whether His Holiness will meet with Sacred Norvan, he conveyed,- “I cannot say anything specific”.
