“Azerbaijan is an important partner for Russia in particular. If Russia and Azerbaijan unite their energy supply potential, it will make the EU countries to appear in a serious dependence, and that today a tough competition is going on between Russia and European countries, is a fact”, – said the politician Hmayak Hovhannisyan in the conversation with Aravot.am, according to whom, Azerbaijan is an important country for Russia, and also in the region.
“Russia has always signified the means of possibly tying Azerbaijan to its political-economic carriage,”- stated Hovhannisyan.
Referring to the recent anti-Armenian manifestations of Russia, and the relations with Azerbaijan, Hovhannisyan said that, in terms of possibilities to settle down our foreign policy issues, it is noteworthy that we should impede with our approaches, rule out, at least, at the expense of our own benefits, the possibility of establishing Russian-Azerbaijani alliance, “And it seems that everyone realizes it, as those who support the participation of Armenia in integration projects of Russia, as well as those who support the active participation of Armenia in European integration projects.”
