As an MP directly related to Armenia’s foreign policy, I can not abstain from referring to unjustified and exaggerated criticism of recent days in some circles and media focused on the activities of diplomatic representatives and foreign policy.
I would not like to fathom what the reason is for this general, can also be said, the new wave of equalization experience and stereotype assessment of activities of diplomatic representative and diplomacy in Armenia for our foreign policy at the current crucial stage. It is obvious that while expressing opinion regarding activities of the foreign political system, in general, and its constituent parts, in particular, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive and sobering analysis of all political and geopolitical factors that determine each step to be taken in that sphere.
To reject this term that our diplomatic representatives defeat in the propaganda war on different platforms, we can bring up the successes of the Armenian side in one of the most important geopolitical points, in the struggle going on in the American political platforms. A platform where due to joint activities of our diplomats and the Armenian community, we succeed to not only reverse the Turkish-Azerbaijani efforts and campaigns performed by millions of oil-dollars of experienced lobbyist organizations hired by them, but also to have substantial achievements.
I should note that, according to the U.S. published data and reports, the Azerbaijani authorities aiming to represent their interests in the U.S., hired not one, but several leading lobbying company (according to documents published by Wikileaks, the number of companies reaches six). The progress recorded by the Armenian side in the framework of U.S. assistance program on assistance providing to Karabakh is developing from the starting point up to creation of an image of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as an independent entity within the American political and social framework. Due to the Embassy’s program policy and balanced steps, we succeeded to turn the organizing of the event in the U.S. Congress on independence of NKR with participation of NKR high rank officials for continuously seven years into a pattern, which, despite the stubborn opposition of the Azerbaijani side, are traditionally attended by dozens of congressmen, this year already headed by President of the Committee of Foreign Relations of the U.S. Congress.

Due to targeted activities of the RA Embassy, representative of NKR and the Armenian community, perversion campaign of Khojaly events in the United States also turned into a nightmare for the initiator’s side, allowing a new impetus to irreversible process of recognition of NKR independence, this time on the provincial level, on behalf of four American states.
Each step made by our diplomatic representatives abroad, or a statement made by the political beneficiaries is reviewed and assessed differently, sometimes in contradictory prisms. In such a situation, the balance point, every time, are the political statements of our Ambassador in the U.S. Congress, as well as in various educational centers, which, based on the path of the RA foreign policy, at the same time provide grounds for joint actions with the embassy, the community, our friends in the Congress and the U.S. administration, which are directed to execution of RA external objectives. This is also due to the fact that the abovementioned achievements of the Armenian side, were never followed by anti-Armenian statements of American high-rank officials and the State Department, despite Azerbaijani pressures.
It should be noted that in honor of them, our American colleagues demonstrate high principality, do not only yield to persistent complaints from the Azerbaijani side, to their lobbying efforts, but also the contrary, if necessary, give a public lesson to Azerbaijan. How it happened that during the Azerbaijani notorious national-nationwide petition conducted in the framework of “We the People initiative, when due to joint and balanced steps of the Embassy and the Armenian community, as well as the balanced stance of American side, the Azerbaijani initiative failed. It is not also accidental that the first, the highest level and the most consistent criticism regarding extradition of the killer Safarov by Hungary and making the latter a hero, came from Washington.
It should be noted that the developments in this direction of diplomacy found their reflection in Mexico, where as a result of active operations of Azerbaijan, unfavorable situation of Armenia was created. In close collaboration with the small Armenian community and the new Ambassador concurrently appointed to Mexico, it was succeeded, within short period of time, to reach the creation of diametrically opposite atmosphere very unfavorable for Azerbaijan, and even dismantling of their “founding father” Heydar Aliyev’s statue. Indeed, on this ground the opening of the Embassy and the Ambassador’s appointment will enable us to maintain and expand our diplomatic positions.
Recently, desirable progress is also observed by our numerous diplomatic missions implementing operative activities in various capitals. I think in case of somewhat substantial and complex analysis it is impossible not to notice the work and the outcome.
