Someone should have explained to Serzh Sargsyan that it was he who wanted to join the Customs Union and not Armenia”, – so expressed his opinion the member of the “Heritage” party Daniel Ioannisyan, in the interview with Aravot.am regarding the statement of Serge Sargsyan. He said that in 1991, we have told with the referendum that we are coming out from the composition of the Soviet Union. “This is our main achievement that we have had during these years, and now the retreat is not subject to review. Serzh Sargsyan’s statement is just a statement, it has no legal force. It still must be approved by the Constitutional Court and by the Parliament.” Daniel Ioannisyan believes that singing the EU Association Agreement and joining the Customs Union are incompatible. “There is no second opinion here. The EU reaction is also quite unequivocal, because the European foreign ministers clearly understood that there was a direct pressure on Armenia, and Armenia changed the course by 180 degrees just in one day. I do not know what Putin has told to Sargsyan and in what tone, but I think Sargsyan has made a decision on the spot, even Galust Sahakyan was claiming the contrary a few hours before the meeting, even his team was unaware. After such cruel evening with Putin, Serzh Sargsyan should consult the psychologist.”
