In the opinion of Kamo Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Board of Lori marz Union of Volunteers Yerkrapah, the Azerbaijani side uses the fact of Hakob Injighulyan’s falling captive to discredit Armenia in front of the international community.
In the interview with Aravot.am, referring to the interview of the Armenian prisoner given to the Azerbaijani media and disseminated in the internet, Kamo Hovhannisyan said that the Azerbaijani side thereby is just employing its campaign machine to show Armenians and Armenia before the world in a negative shade. “The Azerbaijani side is trying to spread propaganda, is trying to discredit us, Armenian, our army before the world, in other words, it is trying to use all possible options to harm our economy, to drop our rating, to affect on the psychology of the ordinary citizen. The circumstance of Hakob Injighulyan falling captive is also an opportunity,”- said Kamo Hovhannisyan.
He notes that special services may work and have worked with the Armenian prisoner, have frightened, and terrorized him. “Special services may work and have worked with Hakob Injighulyan, it is possible that they made an attempt to terrorize, if you return Armenia, you will go to law. In this context, it is not ruled out that they may have even convinced Hakob to surrender to the 3rd country, and receive the status of refugee. This and any programmed anti-Armenian idea voiced from Hakob Injighulyan’s mouth is directed against Armenia and Armenians,”- says Kamo Hovhannisyan, adding that these steps constitute a part of the media war.
