“It was just about this that we were talking. It is also clear that our side and the European side, headed by Mr. Füle, noted that the document, which has been so far developed has serious legal and political basis on which other documents can also be developed that may be subject to signing in the future. Everything we were talking about over the years, especially in the last days, we see that if nothing else interferes, it may also become a reality”, – said Secretary of RPA Hovhannes Sahakyan, in the interview with Aravot.am, referring to the statements of the Commissioner of the European Commission for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Füle made in Yerevan.

Hovhannes Sahakyan also noted that initially talking about joining the Customs Union, and the EU Association Agreement with its components, they have always said they do not oppose them, but combine them. The latter includes some sub-contexts, layers and contents.
In the context of Stefan Füle’s statement, a little more from confident position, the ruling party representative referring to the opposition members, who in recent days were reproaching the authorities for closing the doors of Armenia to Europe, said,- “I urge the opposition parties, experts, those expressing public opinion to think a little more before expressing their opinion on the future of our country, our country’s interests. Because if some or some people were waiting for when we were going to have serious problems with the RF, and to put the issue of security of NKR on one scale and the security of Armenia on the other scale, and they could maneuver over there in some place, once again seeing that they are badly mistaken, once again began talking without understanding what.”

At the same time, the representative of the ruling party does not think it needs to take a rest, and say that everything is fine, but it is necessary to work hard and on daily base. “Diplomacy is the art of the possibility, and we need to do our best within and beyond the possibility to make our country having more predictable future and developments.”
To our question as to what concerns the representative of the ruling party has, which should be a disturbing factor, our interlocutor said,- “All that in not implemented until the end with its final phase, I am inclined to think that there is still a place for something, good or bad, not to do so. I am a pragmatic person. In this case, I’m sure that everything will be fine, but as our elders used to say “Let’s not go ahead of God”, and wait to see how procedures would be developed in terms of becoming more favorable.”
To our observation whether Mr. Füle is not trying to save his own face with such statements because, in fact, this process was also his failure, Hovhannes Sahakyan opposed saying that disagreeing with the positive steps, everything can be interpreted as I would like, even if ther person expressing given idea is not a political figure of Armenia and is not a member of the
ruling party, even if the person expressing given idea is the one having such a high diplomatic title and the main mandate of the Eastern Partnership.
“Let them give whatever formulations they want, but the affairs of our country proceed successfully. I think, everyone who expresses such opinion is a bit of Armenian in its heart, and knows what all of this means for our country, and our people,”- said Hovhannes Sahakyan.
