Unclear motives

September 24,2013 13:08

“Koba, why do you need my death?” This note, as it is known, was found in the archives of Stalin. The author of it is the former fellow of the Soviet leader Nikolai Bukharin. This desperate note was written by him a few hour before being shot calling on his former Bolshevik friend by pseudonym. Indeed, what problem Stalin was solving in 1938 by eliminating a Bolshevik who was not presenting danger to him, who did not have any leverages, and accusing him of espionage. The struggle for power was over, everything was in the hands of Stalin, the plot organized by Bukharin was excluded. There are no rational explanations. Probably there are some inexplicable emotions, some malice, which could occur, for example, because 16 years ago, Lenin expressed warm about Bukharin.

Of course, there is nothing in common between “Father of Nations” and the expert of the Armenian epic, but here also I do not understand why Vardan Sedrakyan wanted to kill Paryur Hayrikyan. What was not shared with the UNSD leader? Mr. Hayrikyan has its explanation, which, of course, is imaginary. According to it, Putin wanted to make Armenia enter into the Customs Union, and seeing that Hayrikyan was the only barrier, ordered Sadrakyan an assassination attempt, and the latter had ordered his people. Of course, it’s hard to believe, but it’s some kind of explanation. The rest is beyond my rational perceptions.

5-6 years ago I had a developed idea of what is important for people, which can make them angry, gore, for what they could revenge, and so on. But the Internet, websites, and social networks revealed a completely new layer of human characters, aspirations and dreams. I did not imagine that there are so many inadequate people in the world, whose ‘driving forces’ of behavior can not be identified in any way. If the verdict against Vardan Sedrakyan is fair, then maybe he is also from these people.

Again, I do not want to draw parallels, but I do not also understand the controversy entered by our composers. The Soviet times are gone, the President of the Union of Composers is not a minister of music, does it worth to spend nerves for this position? You all have the same five lines before you, compose as you wish. In 70-80s, I was looking forward to the congresses and plenums of the Union of Composers, because dozens of new works were going to sound for a few days. Now, I am in panic at seeing how my respected people will ‘pick’ each other at the congress.”
