Yesterday, during the “Golden Key and Rusty Lock” Freedom of Information Annual Award Ceremony, Yerevan Municipality and RA National Assembly were awarded with Rusty Locks as a symbol of secrecy. The award targets, of course, were first of all the media and public relations departments of the institutions, because it is their task to provide free and operative information. Naira Zohrabyan, MP, spokesman of “Prosperous Armenia” party, does not find that the Public Relations Department of the National Assembly is working ‘closed’. “To be honest, this qualification was a little unclear for me, because the NA Public Relations Department, in my opinion, also as a former journalist, is quite open to work. It’s another issue that the answers given to their questions might not satisfy those raising the questions. It is quite another matter, but I am certain to say that the NA is the most open structure with the media.” Ms. Zohrabyan has her own reasons why just NA was awarded with such non-honorable award. “Judging from the facts who are taking part in this celebration, it can be assumed why NA was considered a closed structure, a structure that does not almost work with the media.” To the question of “Aravot”, especially whom she meant, the MP suggested, “watch the footage and see who is the main actor in there, and you will understand whom we are talking about.”
