Exclusion of the second power

October 02,2013 16:22

The titles of Russian “Regnum” news agency titles, “The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, together with sectarians, supports Ukraine’s “European integration.” The last word is taken in quotation marks. “Life without power and selling of the country in parts. The Ukraine last week’s events.” “The Ukrainian crisis. Last year, 50 thousand people lost their jobs in Yanukovych’s homeland.” In other words, do not drink that (European) water, (Ukrainian) brother, you will become a goat. On this background, “pro-western opposition MP Zaruhi Postanjyan has made a provocation against Russian border guards in Armenia.” In other words, the main reason for her “making a provocation” was her being pro-Western. The problem, of course, is not “Regnum”, any media can propagate the ideas that they like. The problem is not so much the attitude of Russia towards the former Soviet Republics, there is no need for further evidence that this attitude, to put it mildly, is not respectful. Much more disturbing is the fact that the Republics, including Armenia, become a subject of resistance of Russia and the West. While specifically for us, the Armenian, it would be more beneficial if they cooperate in this post-Soviet territory. And, this conflict actuates our political parties ‘to cause trouble to each other” as to who is incognito or openly pro-Russian or pro-western.

Along with this “causing trouble”, the political parties, all of them, without exception, beat their breast that they are “pro-Armenia” and “Armenian-focused.” Well, if you are s such, exclude Moscow, Brussels and Washington from your calculations of coming to power or staining in the power, do not circulate rumors about each other before this or that country’s ambassador, do not hint in public or closed speeches that you would serve better to this or that power center.

In 1988, ARM party has raised the principle of a third power exclusion (of which, true, has refused very quickly, it was the war). The idea was that if you have any problems with the people or a country, you need to try to solve this problem just with it, without “calling guys” from another place. Now, I think “exclusion of the second power” is more relevant, in other words, in internal affairs, to rely only on its own citizens of the country, and that is the only way to find out the relations with your political opponents. We all here, in Armenia, in some sense, are a “power.” Under the conditions of strained relations between Russia and the West, this principle becomes very urgent.
