“The message was given about the crime, 10 days already expired for the proceeding executing authority to conduct relevant actions. They also have the camera, and an examination was supposed to be assigned regarding the damages caused. At the moment, I do not have any information as to what the proceeding executing authority has conducted”, – so answered “Heritage” party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan, in the interview with Aravot.am, regarding our question as to what steps she intends to make for the incident with the Russian border guards. To remind, that on September 25, on the way back to Yerevan from Meghri, the representatives of RF FSS stopped the cars of “Heritage” party members, and broke their cameras. Zaruhi Postanjyan said that it should be still determined as to what extent the actions of Russian border guards were legitimate. “They need to give an explanation as to what right the RF SSS representatives had to be there, and what functions they were performing there, because it is not a border. It is 30 km of straight line far from the border with Iran, and it would be even much longer if we go by the road. It is not a territory controlled by absolute bordering procedures, and as a citizen of Armenia, my, as well as fundamental rights of all other citizens were limited over there because of them. We have the right to be informed as to what these border guards were doing there, and what the legal bases were for restricting our fundamental freedoms.”
