Today, after Tigran Arakelyan’s court session, Aravot.am asked ANC faction leader Levon Zurabyan what verdict is pending. He answered, “The verdict has already been made long ago. Today’s session also made the decision. That was a verdict against this regime. It was a verdict of regime buried in injustice, corruption, and rottenness, which was made today. We do not expect any other verdict.” To our question that during previous court session Tigran Arakelyan refused amnesty, how you evaluate that decision, he said, “He was not supposed to hang from the bars of the prison, was he? But, as for refusing, it is doing right because no one has the right to forgive him. He has the right to forgive, and he has to decide to enjoy the right, or not, to forgive all of these authorities, to forgive Serzh Sargsyan, to forgive Eva Darbinyan, the prosecutors, and the investigators. The word amnesty in this case refers to the entire system. Tigran Arakelyan has the right to forgive, but no one has the right to forgive him. So, he he does everything right.” According to Levon Zurabyan, the regime has actually surrendered and released Tigran Arakelyan. “These are their latest efforts to accommodate everything within the range of their show. But, it is then obvious that these pressures, the enormous support that the society demonstrated, the circumstance that every day the tyrant was waking up, and reading in all prestigious newspapers that Tigran Arakelyan is a political prisoner and they demand his freedom, from this very moment the following took place: what was our headache, became the headache of Serge Sargsyan’s regime, and, personally, Serzh Sargsyan’s headache. From that very moment, we won. From the moment, when the headache became his, we won. They went for solutions to release Tigran Arakelyan. It happened due to persistent struggle of people, which was crowned with great success. The whole society entered into this process. The whole society said that if Tigran Arakelyan is in the jail, we do not feel free.” Levon Zurabyan congratulated the editors and journalists of all those newspaper who supported and proved that there are principles for which they will stand to the end. “I do not express gratitude. By this, they have done a great favor to their children. I just congratulate everyone on this stance and victory.”
