When the former political prisoner, participant of the events of “March 1” 2008, and receiving a political asylum in France Gevorg Manukyan was protesting in front of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg with the slogan “We are against domestic and foreign policy conducted by the non-elected President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan” was the slogan of the protest, Republican Party MP Karen Avagyan was announcing from the NA tribune that he did not understand the Armenians who had organized a protest against the authorities of Armenia in Strasbourg, in front of the Council of Europe, “Discrediting our country under the walls of Europe, I am sorry, has its name. How much one should dislike or subjugate its own country to go for such a step. Interestingly, those criticizing Armenia’s foreign policy are doing this in Europe. The Europe will not build our country.
What is the sense of complaining about Armenia’s authorities in Strasbourg? Perhaps, they think that the French will come and build our country instead. It is excluded.” Whereas, demonstrations at the Chamber of the Council of Europe are common, and it looks like no one blames these people for liking or discrediting their country. For example, in the past few days there is a demonstration at the Chamber of the Council of Europe with with images of Che Guevara. Their slogans are in German, hence, we can not transfer what they claim for. To note that during the whole process the police car was watching the demonstrators. Today, in the morning, Moldovans were doing a flash mob at the Chamber of the Council of Europe.
They had posted claims along the stairs of the building, with which they were conveying the European delegates to force Moldova to fulfill its commitments. On behalf of local authorities of the country, they were announcing that the local democracy in Moldova is endangered. They were demanding financial autonomy and were urging for support from European institutions. After disseminating their flyers to the delegated, they got photographed with their own slogans, and left by giving their place to the next demonstrators.
