Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s dream and the RPA’s fear

November 01,2013 21:44

Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s yesterday’s article and in particular the observation that the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan should be wise and resign, has became the subject of heated debate since yesterday. It especially got sharp reaction from the government wing. For instances, the Republican Party MP Karen Avagyan, in the conversation with Aravot.am, expressed the following opinion regarding the observations of the first president, “Apparently, Levon Ter-Petrosyan has survived inglorious moments of his resignation in his dream. It is normal that old people see similar dreams, but does not necessarily to take every opportunity to share it with the public. We have seen a president demonstrating the wisdom and resigning voluntarily, and appeared in zugzwang. In fact, Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s last trainings of mind remind of a self-analysis and historical excursion into the years of his presidency. But the stars prompt that the logic of horoscopy in the political process and to a certain intervals can not be repeated.” We asked politician Gurgen Yeghiazaryan what assessment he will give to reminding of RPA MP that “we have already seen the President, in the face of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, in a zugzwang situation.” Mr. Yeghiazaryan said, “It is an expression of fear, because they realize that their entire career with Serge Sargsyan is immediately coming to an end. Armenian people will not forgive poverty, widespread looting, robberies, nor the issue of issues of putting Karabakh into a deadlock. They are well aware of it, and it is natural that they are attacking the first founder president, one after the other in horror”. Mr. Yeghiazaryan conveyed that “he can sign under any word of the first president point by point when it comes to the person destroying my and your country, Serzh Sargsyan.” To Karen Avagyan’s observation that “Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s last trainings of mind remind of a self-analysis and historical excursion into the years of his presidency,” Gurgen Yeghiazaryan responded, “It is inappropriate to say such a thing about Levon Ter-Petrosyan. He assumed the presidency of the country when it was the earthquake in the north, and a war with the Turks in the south, and the country was in an absolute blockade, we had unsolved problem of bread. When they were saying that there was a migration then, we must also note that people were leaving the country because they did not want to participate in the war. Hence, refer a question to them (meaning the power wing-T.H.) why my and your country is so quickly depopulated. People run away from injustice, disgusting and inappropriate economic mediations.” Wrapping up the idea Mr. Yeghiazaryan noted, “We must not only demand Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation, but ask him to relieve the country from himself as soon as possible. If he thinks of the country, we should not prompt him, he should do it. This is not an experiment, it does not work, and he should quit and leave.”
