“The EU always respects sovereign decision by any of its partners. Consequently, if Armenia has decided to join the Customs Union, we will also respect this decision”,- so replied the head of EU Delegation to Armenia, H.E. Ambassador Traian Hristea to the question of Aravot.am whether the Armenia’s joining the CU will not be an obstacle for the future cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
At the same time, the ambassador emphasized, “We will have to look forward in our bilateral relations and we are ready to continue our relations with Armenia as deep and as closer relations with Armenia that would be compatible with these new political circumstances”. To our question whether the doors of Europe are open or closed or half-opened before Armenia, Traian Hristea responded, “I will be very open and tell you the truth. The EU doors have been always open and will be always open for Armenia.”
