“As usual, all speeches and arguments of the government and all its representatives are based on lies and distortion of facts. This time, too, Hrayr Tovmasyan behaved the same way” so responded Mesrop Movsisyan, Director of “A1 +” TV company, in the conversation with Aravot.am, referring to the observation of RA Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan voiced at the National Assembly that no one seemed to notice how “A1+” returned to the air, no one says that the restrictions on freedom of expression have gone to the past.” Mr. Movsisyan said that the relationships of “A1+” and “ArmNews” TV channels are based on the business and detailed, “Here, it is about the business relationship, he is trying to turn over everything as a government progress, a government tool to “A1+” that the latter, ultimately, came out from the small rift.
This is a misunderstanding by them. It has nothing to do with freedom of expression. It is not related to any government decision and intervention. In general, the government does not know about it until today. And, prior to making the statement, Hrayr Tovmasyan was at least to clarify the circumstances, because “A1+” works with “ArmNews”. It’s a business arrangement, financial relationship between the “A1+” and “ArmNews” TV channels.” To our question whether it turns out that Hrayr Tovmasyan and the government have caught a sound argument with regard to “A1+”, Mr. Movsisyan so responded, “Drowning man will catch at a straw. In this case, they tried to use the past and the present, it is yet another attempt to save their situation, but no one gave any serious reaction to these things, as well as I did. I was listening to Hrayr Tovmasyan and realized that they had already reached the absurd.” Mr. Movsisyan, based on the logic of Mr. Tovmasyan thoughts, at the end of the conversation, referred a question, “Based on his words, it turns out that if our contractual relationship with “ArmNews” ends, whether it again means that freedom of expression is endangered, if Hrayr Tovmasyan considers that it is safe now.”
