National and state issues should be part of the RA state agenda.

November 20,2013 20:34

Today, during “CSTO and Security Modern Challenges” discussion, the ARF faction MP Mr. Vahan Hovhannisyan spoke about the recognition of the Republic of Karabakh, selling of weapons to Azerbaijan by RF, 100th years of the Genocide and noted, “If in RF or CSTO, the political correctness will force not to talk about the 100th years of Genocide, not to support Armenia in recognition of the Genocide internationally, the issue will still remain unresolved, then we will lose the support of the huge Diaspora. Diaspora that tomorrow can be a bridge in European and Eurasian integration process.”

President of “Russian-Armenian Commonwealth” organization Yuri Navoyan, after the discussion, answering the question Aravot.am whether he shares the approach of Mr. Hovhannisyan, said that the issue of the genocide is a part of the package of ensuring security for our people and the state, and we must be able to be more vibrant, convincing and perceptible on other state-national issues for modern complex and rapidly changing world. So, of course, agreeing with the observation of Mr. Hovhannisyan, our interlocutor, however, does not specifies the issue of the Genocide.

According him, our state and national issues should be part of the state agenda of Armenia because Armenia is a subject of international rights. “These issues should be part of Armenian agenda through interstate channels; these issues should be raised at the interparliamentary committee sessions, and we need to give signals to our partners not only in the conferences and interviews, but in state, intergovernmental, interparliamentary and other state relations. At the same time, in scientific, educational, expert and other similar relations. Otherwise, the issues raised by us will stay in conference rooms. Maybe at certain Russian expert levels, they may become our friends on those issues, however, coordinated efforts require us to establish an Armenian agenda in interstate relations in regard to all national and state issues. The matter refers to viability of the state agencies and the coordinated efforts with Diaspora. There should be precise division of labor just to have one target, and all the steps, big or small, will hit the target, mutually complementing each other,” said Yuri Navoyan․
