Today, at the conference entitled “European integration 2013: Prospects of Armenia-EU relations after the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius”, one of the participants asked the Ambassador of Germany to Armenia, Rainer Morel, why the Americans, the Europeans, and, particularly, the German Foreign Affairs Minister, are standing next to the opposition in Euro Maidan, whereas, in Armenia, there was “March 1”, and nobody stood next to the opposition, and what the base for such differences is. “I think there is a burning issue there. There is a danger of moving in the wrong direction, and the risk is so great that European politicians are committed to be there and to try to resolve the situation, to calm down. However, this does not mean that we are not involved in other countries. I think the statement regarding Armenia in Vilnius is the result of my words. We have the joint statement, we will continue to carry out our obligations, if Armenia wishes to do it, we must determine in what form. So, this involvement exists,” replied Mr. Morel.
