Boris Navasardyan about meeting Davutoğlu with protests

December 13,2013 22:50

“I do not rule out that it was something organized by some forces or structure. However, I do not feel much difference. After all, any structure and force has the right to express its point of view”,- so replied Boris Navasardyan, the President of Yerevan Press Club, to the question of Aravot.am whether he shares the view that ahead to the Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu’s visit, there are elements of manipulation in the action organized by the ARF youth. To the question of whether it was appropriate to meet Davutoğlu with protests, Mr. Navasardyan replied as follows, “If it is associated with Davutoğlu’s visit the way it was, then I consider it senseless, since this is an international event, the session of the Foreign Ministers’ Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, it was not a visit to Armenia, so that the program was to be coordinated and compiled with the expectations of the authorities and the community. Hence, to expect that this visit would have meant more rather than just attending the session, was groundless.”
