Boris Navasardyan about meeting Davutoğlu with protests

December 16,2013 13:46

“I do not rule out that it was organized by some forces or structures. However, I do not feel much difference. Eventually, any structure and force has the right to express its point of view”,- so responded the President of Yerevan Press Club, Boris Navasardyan, to the question of Aravot.am of whether he agrees with the point of view that there are elements of manipulation in the actions of the ARF Youth Organization ahead to Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu’s visit. To the question whether it was appropriate to meet Davutoğlu with protest action, Mr. Navasardyan so responded, “If it is associated with the program of Davutoğlu’s visit the way it was, then I consider it senseless, since this was an international event, the session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, it was a visit to Armenia to coordinate and comply the program with the expectations of the authorities and the society. So, to expect that the visit would mean something more than just attending the event was groundless.”
