Raffi Hovannisian established the “Heritage” party years after the foundation of his Center for Strategic Studies. The center and Raffi Hovannisian’s life girlfriend’s, Armine Hovannisian’s, charity “Orran” served as the favorable haven, on the background of which, Raffi Hovannisian’s “Heritage” party was established.
Although, the majority of “Heritage” members were Armenia residents and Armenians, however, the language and thinking of the Diaspora was typical to “Heritage “, which were the direct consequence of the language and thinking of the leader of the “Heritage” Party, as well as the Diaspora, and, why not, also Dashnak upbringing to some extent. And, even though Raffi Hovannisian, personally, is not a Dashnak, however, by essence, he is a lot more Dashnak than many other Dashnaks. However, this is our impression, and, nonetheless, it is interesting and strange that the other members of “Heritage” part are not like Dashnaks at all. Especially, Zaruhi Postanjyan.
With the exception of Ruben Hakobyan. As for personally Raffi Hovannisian, he is a Diaspora to his fingertips and vision, as well as romantic like his great namesake, and probably, also, Raffi Hovannisian’s these features were the reason that Heritage members would not get along with pragmatic and daily free democrats. Anyway, wittingly or unwittingly, we need to consider “Heritage” party developed, especially on the background of other failed and unstable parties in Armenia, and especially after the last presidential elections, and although many believe that during the recent presidential elections, the success of the leader of the “Heritage” part was due to non-participation of the ANC and PAP in the presidential campaign, however, many do believe that Raffi Hovannisian introduced many innovations of political struggle into the last presidential campaign (kindness, tolerance, and so on).
These two opinions and views are equally acceptable, because both meet the reality, and those who believe that Raffi Hovannisian introduced innovations into our political thinking (kindness, tolerance, etc.), should also accept the notion that the tolerant struggle was to be ended with the prayer at the Memorial of Genocide, and, to the point, the “Lord’s prayer” in two-voice at the Memorial of Genocide was also a kind of novelty, especially when one of the attendees praying was the head of the Police Department. Interestingly, the recommendations and calls made by the “Heritage” and Raffi Hovannisian remain largely unanswered by the opposition parties.

However, Raffi and “Heritage”, as we can see, are not of those who give way to despair and get disappointed. They quite intensively and consistently are continuing their political search. As much as Raffi Hovannisian and other Heritage members are different from each other, so as the other members of “Heritage” are different from each other. Perhaps, you would also agree that Zaruhi Postanjyan and Anahit Bisharyan have not much in common, or, let’s say, Ruben Hakobyan and Armen Martirosyan. Their link is their leader, Raffi Hovannisian, who in his turn, as we said, has the minimum commonality of political stance and thinking with the members of his own party. This is a paradox, but a fact. It is also a fact that there are other paradoxes in other parties, which we would address later.
