On December 2, during the rally of the protest “We are against the Customs Union”, the participants of the rally apprehended to the police department are discussing the issue of submitting a collective application against the Police for violating their right to conducting free rally. This was said to Aravot.am by Davit Sanasaryan, one of the participants of the rally and one of apprehended to the police station, on that day. According to him, even if it is decided that they would not submit a collective application, he will definitely appeal the decision of the RA Police for bringing up to an administrative responsibility. The RA Police brought charges against him according to Article 182 and 180 of the RA Code on Administrative Offences. Davit Sanasaryan said that he had not received the written decision of RA Police on payment of the administrative penalty. “I do not intend to pay the administrative penalty, because the action was within the law. We had previously presented an application of rally, and it was allowed, the police were to ensure our safety, and then, for no reason, they decided that the action should not take place. I do not accept that the police have presented a legitimate claim to me, and I have not performed or breached any provision of the law on the freedom of rallies,” said Davit Sanasaryan.
