“I consider it an abuse to others opinion, and views. The man who speaks about human rights, has no right to fight against dissidence,” this is the view of Karine Achemyan, an RPA MP, regarding the event that took place during the voting of “gas agreement”, yesterday, at the National Assembly, and, in particular, regarding all was done by Zaruhi Postanjyan, head of “Heritage” faction. In the conversation with Aravot.am, Ms. Achemyan opined that all those who voted in favor, were mainly justifying their approach. “I, myself, am not afraid or do not evade from responsibility, but to disallow me to vote, I think, it’s a big violation. A politician, who considers himself a politician, should not allow such things. It’s just hooliganism.” To the question of Aravot.am whether she does not feel constrained for the label “traitor”, which yesterday was attached to the Republican Party members, “Not at all. First, it was attached by a group of people. Definitely, it is not the view of the people, and hundreds, even thousands of people do not have the right to speak on behalf of the people.” According to the Republican party MP, those who are familiar with disputed agreements know that there are provisions to be amended. “But, in general, in these twenty years, we have witnessed various deals, and mainly, the time in the future showed that these deals are legal and caused no harm to our country. In this case, too, the time will show what all this was about. I think that this is nowise a treachery. On the contrary, if the financial situation of the majority of people, population, has been facilitated, the amount that people was supposed to pay for gas, is facilitated, we should not fight against it like this, moreover, in this way.” We noticed that in the result of the said deals, nowadays, the majority of Armenia’s wealth are either owned by the Russian Federation, or are handed over to the administration of the latter, as a result, the state Armenia, in fact, willy-nilly, appears under the possession of Russia, the Republican Party MP said that Armenia is in a complex geopolitical position, and, therefore, it has difficulties to survive and develop, however, the President and other authorized government officials have discussed the details of this deal, have negotiated, and she does not think that any of them may make any wrong or malicious move against the state. Ms. Achemyan believes that the majority of protesters are simply not well informed against what they are protesting. We inquired to know her opinion of, however, why full information was not delivered to the public, why the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources did not give full answers to the questions of the MPs about the agreements to be convincing. Karine Achemyan replied, “Perhaps, first, the audience are few. It is possible that the ones presenting arguments were not much either, but I wish these arguments be presented by professionals. Mostly by the Minister and those who were present at the debates, were well-informed. However, I do not think that the politicians, in general, are worthy to appear in the domain of curses and blasphemy.”
