January 10,2014 23:23

“On December 14, the father’s, Hrachya Harutyunyan’s trial, was postponed for three months until March”,- so responded his daughter, Lilit Harutyunyan, to the question of Aravot.am of what new developments are available regarding Armenian-by-origin Hrachya Harutyunyan’s trial who was involved in the accident with his truck near Podolsk, Moscow. Note that earlier, 18 people died in car accident on July 13.

We asked Lilit Harutyunyan on what basis the trial is postponed. She had no clear information about it. To our next question whether Hrachya Harutyunyan has a lawyer, and who is defending his trial at the court, Lilit replied, “We have not hired the lawyer, but my father has a lawyer, Ara Abrahamyan is dealing with such issues.” In recent days, the Russian press published materials with the content that Hrachya Harutyunyan has admitted him being guilty and does not intend to submit a claim to review the case. We asked Lilit to clarify whether it is true. She said, “My father admits his being guilty in the sense that he had violated the traffic rules by turning the truck, as a result a lot of people died. In all other respects, he is not to blame. If the truck got broke on the way, where is his fault, I do not know.” In the conversation with us, Lilit Harutyunyan also informed that her father has no health problems now.
