Artur Sakunts about amendments of procedures of immigrants in RF
At the request of “Aravot”, the head of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor office, Artur Sakunts, spoke about the amendments of procedures of staying in Russia since January 1, 2014, according to which, citizens of the countries, including Armenia, who had access to Russia without a visa, can stay in the territory of Russia for 90 days every 180 days. “Creating this tool, the Russian Federation will force and compel the Customs Union member countries, which have migrant workforce-related issues, ask for making exceptions for those countries. In other words, through the exceptions the law will become a tool for deterrence or effect, as well as pressure against the countries, which are not members of the CU to join the membership. It is definite that the adoption of restriction norms in the context of formation of the Customs Union is a mean of pressure on the countries, which Russia considers as potential members to the Customs Union.”
