“Now we should have had a huge army of subversives. Of course, we have well-trained professionals who are well trained to the point that they can go to and put the rose on Mehriban Aliyeva’s pillow and return safe. However, we need to have a huge army of subversives, which, if necessary, will block Turkey’s army up to Istanbul,” said the scout Vova Vardanyan, today, referring to modernization problems of the Armenian army.
Continuing the idea, he said, “Today is not the century that we should win the Azerbaijani army fighting only with slingshots. Death of any soldier drew hundreds of people back from the Armenian army. Whereas, when we say that a soldier should not remain idle in the army, they make him clear the territory from morning until night.”
Aravot.am conveyed the said problems to David Apinyan, expert of “East” strategic analytical center. He did not agree with the above observations and claimed the following: “To have such view, serious factual comparisons are required. If you can relatively stay calm in the situation when the rival is really initiating certain actions to execute and break the fighting spirit and alertness of the guard on position, and, in fact, we counteract the opponent, whether it does not prove that we have a well-trained army and good troop. Just ordinary soldiers of our army, who have not passed such fighting training, pushed Turkish subversives back. Hence, I do not agree with the opinions that are aimed at discrediting our troops, and the expansion of skepticism about it.”
